Security has been increased and please note, we've had no choice but to ban some countries simply due to their attempts to spam utilizing bots. Other suspicious origin sites have been logged and they too will be banned/unable to register simply because they're known to run spam bots. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Please note that we had some forum issues with the previous hosting company we had been with for over a decade. We've now relocated to a new hosting company. If you see any issues, please let us know. As of today, we're still working out some final quirks :)

Distribution And Development / Android Distribution
« Last post by Frozen In Ice on September 06, 2013, 01:03:19 AM »
Hello Folks,
I realize there is Google Play, but I also noticed that all the big name studios, such as Disney, EA, etc are listed there as well, usually in all the top spots. It makes it difficult for Indie developers to get seen. I know this won't replace such a high traffic area, and it's not meant to. However, every little bit of exposure helps. It's not the greatest script to use, but it does work. You can post an image within the description for your game, and the listings are only open to Indie developers. You can submit your Android game to http://www.maxximusgames.com

Hope this helps some of you out there with some additional exposure.

Indie Chat / Apple Developer Site Breached
« Last post by Frozen In Ice on July 22, 2013, 09:35:06 PM »
Thought I would pass this along to any Apple developers on the forum.

Apple closed access to it's developer site after learning that it had been compromissed and developers personal information had been breached [1].

In the notice posted to the site, Apple explained that some developers personal information like name, e-mail address and mailing address may have been accessed. The note does not mention passwords, or if password hashes were accessed.

One threat often forgotten in these breaches is phishing. If an attacker has access to some personal information associated with a site, it is fairly easy to craft a reasonably convincing phishing e-mail using the fact that the site was breached to trick users to reset their password. These e-mail may be more convincing if they include the user's user name, real name or mailing address as stored with the site.

A video on YouTube claims to show records obtained in the compromisse [2] . The video states that 100,000 accounts were access to make Apple aware of the vulnerability in its site and that the data will be deleted.

Announcements / New Apps And Minigame Sound Effects From IndieSFX
« Last post by Mark Sheeky on January 31, 2013, 09:51:29 AM »
Game sound effects creators IndieSFX (www.indiesfx.co.uk) have released a new set of sound effects: Apps and Minigames.

The new set was designed with mobile and web games in mind and includes lots of snappy notification, pick-up and general win/lose, menu and confirmation sounds; the essential catchy sounds that always come in useful. There are sounds for using objects (slide/turn/eat/drink etc.), attacks and hits too, audiences/applause effects, scrolling and more.

One of the most useful inclusions is an excellent collection of short stereo sound and music loops, jingles to set a scene in a few seconds while taking up the minimum of space.

There are 139 stereo sounds in the set, and as always all are original and created for this set. Effects are trimmed to silence and supplied as normal uncompressed (PCM) stereo and mono 16-bit wav files to ensure the highest quality standards.
